St. Patrick Senior Center

Mission Statement: St. Patrick Senior Center provides a “home away from home” for over 2000 older adults all year round. It is a community that seniors know is their home regardless of age; whether they are homeless or own a home, depressed or happy, isolated or social, or adjusting from work to retirement.

Services: 
Today St. Patrick Senior Center has evolved into a comprehensive health and wellness program that provides valuable services including hot and nutritious meals, an excellent health maintenance clinic, and transportation assistance to a diverse population of seniors age 55 and older. (hot congregate meals to approximately 200 seniors daily, seven days per week). They also offer fun and educational classes in art, technology, exercise and dancing, intergenerational programs, healthy living and social activities providing personal enrichment while creating lasting friendships. Most importantly, they provide their participants with a closely knit and caring community where seniors can feel welcome and involved.

Services: Bridging communities provides quality bilingual, professional assessments for those 60 and greater in the Southwest Detroit area. Their overall goal is to help seniors remain living in their home, in dignity, as long as possible. They connect seniors with resources, and even provide supportive services to help seniors with their unmet needs such as medical transportation, lawn cutting, friendly visits to reduce isolation, regular friendly phone calls, supplemental food delivery, inter generational opportunities, educational workshops, and neighborhood revitalization efforts.
